ASCENDANT: YOUR PERSONA
Your Ascendant, or Rising Sign, is your Persona, or what you show the world when you are interacting with others.  The Ascendant is noted in the chart by the letters ‘Asc’ and was the  Zodiacal sign and degree that was ascending on the eastern horizon at the specific time of your Birth.  The Ascendant represents the conditions or environment into which you were born and thus shapes your personality/persona.  For example, someone with a Taurus Ascendant will exhibit all the characteristics of ‘slow and steady wins the race.’  They are resistant to change, cautious, careful, and may be the type of person who will remain in the same position for decades.  Your Ascendant or your Persona, is the innate, automatic responses you have when interacting with people and events.  A Taurus Ascendant individual would approach any new person or event with caution, but once they acclimate to the person or thing, they are attached to it for life!  The traits of the Taurus Zodiac sign can be likened to an individual aged 2-3, who has just learned the word “Mine!”  They think ‘what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine and I’m NOT giving it up.”
